Craig Jones doesn’t understand how Gordon Ryan is continuing to get bigger, despite him having stomach problems that doesn’t allow him to eat much.
Jones and Ryan are the two faces of grappling, and two of the best grapplers in the world. The two have grappled three times with Ryan winning all three, but Jones doesn’t like how Ryan uses no time limits to try and gas out his opponents.
However, Craig Jones says he has nothing but respect for Gordon Ryan but is bothered by who he has faced in his grappling matches lately.
“I don’t think he needs to have a warm-up match in any capacity because it hasn’t even been really a year since he double-golded at ADCC, or he faced Nicky Rod. The man is healthy. If you have stomach problems, you waste away. This guy is turning more and more into a f*****g Incredible Hulk every day. If you have stomach problems, you can’t eat, if your muscles grow, you’re probably f*****g eating. I think the guy is in fine form to take on whoever he wants. Again, he calls the shots. “He wants to take on Lucas Barbosa next. Barbosa had an MMA fight at 170lbs for perspective. So guys, that is who he has next. I know who he’s facing in December, I can’t say it yet, people will probably be upset with me if I release that. In my opinion, the Proper 12 thing was a bit weird. I think he’s trying to gently caress Conor McGregor’s nuts in an attempt to get some social media shout-outs and in an attempt to p*ss off Dillon Danis, who’s obviously Conor McGregor’s grappling coach and good friend,” Jones continued.
Of course, the Proper 12 thing is Gordon Ryan was teasing a mystery box on social media during the pre-fight build-up against Patrick Gaudio. After the win, he opened the box and it was a bottle of Proper 12, which is Conor McGregor’s whiskey.
Although Craig Jones didn’t really understand it, he still has nothing but respects Gordon Ryan and his grappling skills.
