Jon Jones and Gordon Ryan got some work in on the mats, and it was filmed.

Jones is currently preparing for his first UFC heavyweight title defense against Stipe Miocic. The title fight will take place inside Madison Square Garden in New York City on November 11. Many are wondering if a double retirement could await at the conclusion of UFC 295, but it’s all speculation at this time.

Jon Jones Rolls With Gordon Ryan

Jon Jones is always looking for ways to stay sharp, and a session with Gordon Ryan may have accomplished just that. Ryan, a BJJ master who has earned five gold medals at the ADCC World Championship, appeared more than happy to roll with “Bones,” and vice versa (via Instagram). In a separate video, Jones and Ryan fired off some rounds at the shooting range.

BJJ fans will be happy to see Ryan active and in good spirits again. He had been suffering from a serious throat infection, but he has recovered and is back to being in tremendous shape.

In late May, Ryan delivered some good news on social media. He revealed that he was feeling significantly better, and he followed that up a short time later by showing off his restored physique.

“I’m happier today than I’ve been in a long time. Rolled around a little with my old friend and mentor Brian Glick here at UFC PI. Had some jiu jitsu, wrestling, and MMA legends in the session today as well. A quick trip to (Las) Vegas for the boys and some UFC media and business, then off to Hawaii to show everyone what I’ve been thinking of and working on before I got sick. Can’t wait to see everyone out there.”

It’ll be interesting to see if Jones and Ryan have more in store. The two certainly seem to be enjoying each other’s company. Could we be in for a spectacular submission finish for Jones at UFC 295?
