  • Mark Coleman got MMA fans worried about his condition after he appeared to be unfit in his recent training clip
  • The 58-year-old is set to make his boxing debut later this year

UFC legend Mark Coleman is making a herculean return to combat sports after being retired for more than a decade. In his recent training clip, “The Hammer” failed to impress the fans as he appeared to be far from good condition.

The mind is there but the body isn’t anymore

In a short video, Coleman tried to boast some of his footwork as he gears up for a celebrity boxing match later this year. Unfortunately, the 58-year-old stumbled after a few steps and it drew concerns about the condition of his body, especially his knees.

Check out what some online fans had to say about Coleman below.

It is yet to be known who Coleman will face in his maiden boxing match.

An insanely long hiatus

While nobody could question the legacy of Coleman in the sport, it’s hard to argue that it has been a long time since he last fought.

It can be recalled that Coleman’s last fight was under the UFC banner and it happened 12 years ago at UFC 109 where he was submitted by his fellow UFC legend Randy Couture in the second round. Since then, “The Hammer” has suffered and endured some health problems. After his latest recovery, Coleman has been seen doing some pad works in the gym and seemingly doing some light training but he never struck anybody as someone who is in fighting shape.

Nevertheless, Coleman is still one of the pioneers of MMA, having been the first UFC heavyweight champion following his win over Dan Severn at UFC 12. Throughout his Hall of Fame MMA career, Coleman faced a wide array of legends such as Couture, Severn, Fedor Emelianenko, Shogun Rua, Mirko Cro Cop and Don Frye.
