‘The heaviest boxing match in history’ is finally in the books.
‘Game of Thrones’ actor and strongman Hafthor Bjornsson (335lbs) met the ‘2017 World’s Strongest Man’ Eddie Hall (313lbs) not in a lifting contest, but instead a boxing match. The two heavy hitters would collide in an absolute spectacle of a fight in Dubai.
The action went down live and free on Segi TV, where the bitter rivals would seemingly bury the hatchet. They may have entered the ring with hate in their hearts, but left each other with respect in the end.
How The Fight Went Down
This would be the result of 6 rounds of boxing between the giants. Ultimately, only one of these strongmen could win. It would end up being Bjornsson who got his hand raised.
There’d be some close calls throughout the fight, with Thor knocking down Hall twice in the fight. Hall might have been down, but he was not out. He’d survive 6 rounds, holding his own against the towering Thor. He even knocked him down once, early on. Hall was looking for a one-punch KO throughout the fight only to get outstruck by the superb tactics of Bjornsson.
Bjornsson pieced together some good combos throughout the fight, cutting up Hall’s face. After 6 hard-fought rounds in ‘The Heaviest Boxing Match In History’, Bjornsson had done enough to get the nod.
Official result: Hafthor Bjornsson defeats Eddie Hall via unanimous decision (57-54, 57-54, 57-54)
