According to Jake Paul, his pay-per-view clash with Nate Diaz more than doubled the numbers he did in February against Tommy Fury.
‘The Problem Child’ added a seventh career win to his record on August 5, scoring a unanimous decision victory over Diaz after 10 rounds of entertaining action. The bout itself was critically-acclaimed, but we can now confirm that it was also a smashing success commercially. According to a post from Paul on Instagram, the bout doubled the number of buys for his bout with Fury earlier this year.
Paul also revealed that his fight with the former UFC superstar more than quadrupled the pay-per-revenue in the U.S. than his fight with Fury.

Will the Massive Success of Jake Paul vs. Nate Diaz Accelerate Their Proposed Rematch?
Much of that success can likely be placed on the star power of Nate Diaz, who spent 15 years carving out a reputation as one of the more polarizing characters in combat sports. The ‘Stockton Samurai’ made it a habit of selling a massive amount of PPV buys for many of his high-profile scraps inside the Octagon. His back-to-back bouts against Conor McGregor and his scrap with Jorge Masvidal all generated more than a million buys for the UFC.
It’s no wonder why Jake Paul is pushing hard for the pair to run it back into the world of mixed martial arts.
Immediately following their contest in the Lone Star State, Jake Paul doubled down on his $10 million challenge to fight Nate Diaz in the PFL Smart Cage, an offer Diaz seemingly accepted. That bout, should it come to fruition, could be a massive moment for the Professional Fighters League if the numbers between Diaz and Paul in the boxing ring are to be believed.
But whether or not that fight happens largely hinges on what Diaz prioritizes before hanging up his gloves for good. The kid from 209 has already made it clear that returning to the UFC for a long-awaited trilogy bout with Conor McGregor is on the agenda. But given the massive success of his fight with ‘The Problem Child’ and the $10 million dollar offer, nobody could blame Diaz for taking the money and putting off his inevitable meeting with McGregor.
