Joseph Parker Stuns Deontay Wilder with Dominant Unanimous Decision Win – Joshua vs. Wallin Results (Highlights)

Parker dominated 'The Bronze Bomber' throughout their 12-round affair in the 'Day of Reckoning' co-main event

Heavyweight knockout artist Deontay Wilder returned to the squared circle to take on former WBO heavyweight world champion Joseph Parker. It was the first fight for ‘The Bronze Bomber’ since his first-round knockout of Robert Helenius in October 2022. 

Parker will look for his fourth win of 2023 after scoring victories over Jack Massey, Faiga Opelu, and Simon Kean.

Round 1

Joseph Parker comes out putting pressure on early as Wilder looks to counter, but through the first minute, only one shot is thrown, a left jab from Parker. He follows up with another, but it falls short of connecting. Parker goes up top with a 1-2 that Wilder defends with ease. Parker is keeping his distance to avoid the seven-inch reach advantage of Wilder. A nice right hand from Parker lands. Wilder comes back with a jab. The first round ends with both fighters circling the ring, but offering little in the way of offense. 

Round 2

Parker starts round two with a chat to the midsection of Wilder. Parker continues to back up Wilder and unloads a big right hand that misses the mark. Wilder snaps back with a jab. Parker offers a double jab before going back to the body. Parker with another powerful right hand and Wilder defends. Wilder jabs. Parker closes the distance and briefly ties up against the ropes. Wilder fires a jab followed by a second that connects. Parker responds with a shot to the body just before the round ends.

Round 3

Deontay Wilder comes out with a double jab as Parker moves inside with a left. Wilder comes back with a right but Parker is able to close the distance fast enough to tie up and avoid the damage. Both fighters trade jabs. Parker lunges with a right hand. Wilder offers a jab in return and Parker again closes the distance, landing a nice left to the body of Wilder. Parker lands a double jab as Wilder moves in, throwing off Wilder’s balance momentarily. 

Round 4

Parker comes out looking to let his hands go, landing a nice right hand. Wilder comes back with a 3-2 combination. Parker opts to engage, throwing a flurry of strikes with Wilder up against the ropes. Parker closes in and looks to land the right hand on the body once again. They separate after a brief tie-up and Wilder begins to pump the jab, looking to gauge the distance and Parker continues his pursuit. Parker sprints in, landing on the body before going upstairs with a 1-2. 

Round 5

Parker continues his role as the aggressor, landing a solid right hand on Wilder before tying up. Parker follows it up with a nice jab to the body once separated. Parker goes back to the body. Halfway through the round, Wilder has offered little more than a double jab. Parker comes in with another big right hand against the ropes. Wilder lets the left hand go, but Parker moves in and clinches before resuming control of the ring. Parker grazes Wilder with an overhand right in the corner seconds before the bell sounds.

Round 6

Deontay Wilder comes out once again attempting to establish his own jab as Parker moves in, attacking the body of Wilder in close. Wilder doubles up on the left jab and again, Parker lunges in looking to land in close. Wilder uncorks a left hand followed by a right that Parker successfully dodges. Parker lets the overhand right go once again, narrowly landing as Wilder ties up. 

Wilder responds by coming forward and unloading a big right hand that misses the mark. Parker nearly lands another big overhand right and he comes back with another quick follow-up right that catches Wilder just as we reach the halfway point of the fight. 

Round 7

Through six rounds, Parker may very well be on the verge of a clean sweep as Wilder has only landed 16 punches. Parker continues his aggressive approach, backing up Wilder and landing inside before being separated. Parker lands a jab. Wilder throws a big right hand that grazes the skull of Parker and Parker comes back with a nasty right hand that stumbles Wilder. 

Wilder is starting to show more intensity in his punches, but he’s still coming up well short of landing anything of significance.

Round 8

Both fighters come out trading jabs in the opening minute with Parker alternating between the body and head of his opponent. Wilder unloads a big right hand. Parker comes right back with a right of his own. Wilder attempts to respond, but Parker clinches up. Parker again moves in with a right hand that Wilder fends off.

Parker throws three straight jabs and then lands a vicious right hand that staggers Wilder. Parker unleashes a flurry of strikes against the ropes and Wilder is on wobbly legs but survives to the end of the round. 

Round 9

Parker starts the round with a jab to the body before going back to the overhand right. Wilder offers up a jab but is seemingly awaiting for Parker to throw first. Parker obliges, throwing another big right hand. They clinch up and Parker nearly lands a left on the break. Parker continues to stalk but looks content to coast through the round, knowing he is likely up on the scorecards. Wilder decides to engage, throwing a combination of strikes that ends with an overhand right to close the round. 

Round 10

Parker kickstarted the 10th with a sharp jab. Wilder begins looking for a jab as Parker appears to be dipping to one side when moving in. Wilder lands a thudding right to the body. Wilder doesn’t follow up, allowing Parker to resume his role as the ring general. Parker stalks forward, offering up the occasional jab. Parker moves in with an overhand right. Wilder attempts to respond with an uppercut but misses the mark as Parker clinches up until the round ends. 

Round 11

Deontay Wilder comes out with a pair of jabs. Parker responds with a stiff jab to the body. Wilder moves in with a right hand, but Parker dips his head into the chest of Wilder to avoid the power coming his way. Parker jabs and Wilder comes back with a 1-2. Parker responds with a big overhand right against the ropes. He attempts to land it again on the break as Wilder’s corner is begging him to push the pace and put Parker on his back foot. Something ‘The Bronze Bomber’ has refused to do the entire fight.

Parker lands a good left hand. Parker comes back with a big right, trying to catch Parker as he’s dipping in. Another overhand right from Parker lands and he is beaming with confidence as we begin to enter the final round. 

Round 12

For the first time, Wilder comes out looking for a much-needed finish and Parker is willing to oblige, trading in close with Wilder. ‘The Bronze Bomber’ begins to bomb away, but Parker lands a nasty right hand. Wilder comes back with a wildly looping right that misses. Wilder moves in close and lets his hands go, but fails to land. Wilder lands a short right and attempts to follow it up with an even bigger right but again misses. 

Parker comes back with a big right hand as he is 30 seconds away from a massive upset. Wilder attempts one big right hand with 15 seconds to go, but Parker ties up and closes out the bout moments away from certain victory.
