- Chris Eubank Jr. stopped Liam Smith via TKO in their rematch
- Eubank Jr. avenged his loss to Smith in a lopsided bout
Chris Eubank Jr. finally got his revenge on Liam Smith after securing a TKO victory in their epic rematch in Manchester.
It was Chris all the way
Right off the bat, Eubank Jr. already let Smith feel his power as the former IBO super-middleweight champ floored the former WBO light-middleweight title holder in the fourth round. Eubank Jr. carried on and became more aggressive, landing more vicious power shots on Smith, who managed to survive the ninth round.
In Round 10, Eubank Jr. knocked Smith down once again but “Beefy” was able to get back to his feet after eight counts. Eubank Jr. smelled blood and hit Smith with a flurry of punches until the referee in charge decided to not let “Beefy” continue. The bout was stopped at 1:45 of Round 10 and Eubank Jr. was then declared the winner via TKO.

A sweet revenge
The win saw Eubank Jr. avenging his TKO loss to Smith earlier this year in a showdown that also took place in Manchester. Since then, Eubank Jr. has made it a point to come back stronger and finally had the chance to equal the score with his nemesis.
Prior to losing to Smith, Eubank Jr. has gone unbeaten in six consecutive fights which included a WBA interim middleweight title fight win over Matvey Korobov and a title fight win over James DeGale for the vacant IBO super middleweight belt.
Smith, meanwhile, saw his winning streak coming to an end. Before losing to Eubank Jr. in the rematch, Smith won four bouts in a row, including a TKO win over Jessie Vargas for the vacant WBO inter-continental super welterweight title.
It is yet to be known if a trilogy match between the two bitter rivals will take place in the future.
