June 4, 2023 – The much-anticipated Toronto Pro Supershow concluded, unveiling new champions in 10 divisions in a grand spectacle of professional bodybuilding. Athletes from around the world participated in this premier event held in Toronto.

In a significant change from previous years, the qualification system for the Olympia, the pinnacle of bodybuilding competitions, has been revised. Unless an athlete placed in the top three last year or in the top five in Men’s Open, they had to win a show to qualify. The traditional points-based qualification has been discontinued, while previous Olympia winners continue to enjoy lifetime eligibility.

This year, the Men’s Open division drew particular attention, with a new champion stepping forward in the absence of Mohamed Shaaban, the 2022 winner who chose not to defend his title. The vacuum left by Shaaban created a thrilling competition, with Iain Valliere and Hassan Mostafa being the focal points of the much-anticipated contest.

Participants at this year’s Toronto Pro Supershow competed across ten divisions, namely Men’s Open, 212 Bodybuilding, Classic Physique, Men’s Physique, Men’s Wheelchair, Women’s Bodybuilding, Figure, Bikini, Women’s Physique, and Wellness, with the Fitness division being the only one omitted from the event.

Adding to the excitement, amateurs who earned their pro cards on June 3 were given the exceptional opportunity to join the professional ranks in the competition.

The winners of the Toronto Pro Supershow have joined an elite group of athletes who have already earned their spots in the 2023 Mr. Olympia competition, to be held from November 2-5 in Orlando, Florida. Time is of the essence for athletes aiming for Olympia, as the deadline for qualification is October 9.

Among the contestants, Iain Valliere, a high-ranking Mr. Olympia finisher, was seen as a strong contender. Ross Flanigan, fresh off a victory at the 2023 Musclecontest California Pro, was also in the running, seeking to maintain his winning streak.

Hassan Mostafa, who bagged back-to-back titles at the 2022 Orlando Pro and Puerto Rico Pro, was another competitor to watch out for. Despite missing the Olympia stage last year due to health concerns, Mostafa was back in contention, aiming for the gold. Other notable participants included Joe Seeman, Slavoj Bednar, and Jangmin Lee, who each brought their unique prowess to the stage.

With the event now concluded and the official scorecard released, the 2023 Toronto Pro Supershow has proven itself once again as a pivotal platform for bodybuilders competing for the ultimate qualification to Olympia. The competition has left fans and competitors alike eager for what the rest of the bodybuilding season holds.
