The 2023 Orlando Pro showcased an incredible display of talent on July 1st, as the Men’s Open bodybuilders gathered under the sunny skies of Florida, all vying for a coveted spot at the prestigious Mr. Olympia competition.

This year’s journey to the Olympia has intensified, with athletes facing a shorter timeframe to secure their invites by October 9th. The excitement will reach its peak from November 2nd to 5th, as the event returns to the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando.

The qualifying process for the Olympia has become more challenging without the point system. Now, bodybuilders must prove their worth by winning a professional show to earn their rightful place on the grand stage.

All eyes were on the defending champion, Hassan Mostafa, as he sought redemption after narrowly missing his Olympia invite at the 2023 Toronto Pro Supershow. Fans were also eagerly anticipating the remarkable progress of veteran Phil Clahar, who consistently impresses with his year-to-year improvements.

Hassan Mostafa had a remarkable 2022 season, securing two professional victories. One of his notable wins came at the Puerto Rico Pro, where he displayed his undeniable dominance in the sport. Although he didn’t compete in the Olympia in 2022, he left his mark with a commendable 13th place finish in the 2021 edition.

In the end, it was Phil Clahar who emerged triumphant in Orlando, earning his well-deserved opportunity to face off against the reigning Mr. Olympia, Hadi Choopan. ‘The Persian Wolf’ solidified his dominance last year by defeating top contenders Derek Lunsford and Nick Walker in the finals.

Phil Clahar has already confirmed his participation in the upcoming Masters Olympia contest, set to take place in Romania on August 26-27, 2023. Since turning pro in 2018, he may not have claimed victory in an Open show, but his consistent performances have positioned him as a formidable competitor. His impressive second-place finish at the 2021 Tampa Pro showcases his undeniable talent, falling just short of Valliere’s top spot.

In his most recent appearance, Clahar showcased his skills at the 2022 Boston Pro, securing a respectable sixth place finish.
