Things got a little physical between ‘Platinum’ Mike Perry and Eddie Alvarez when the two went face-to-face for the first time ahead of their highly anticipated headliner at BKFC 56 next month.

On December 2, Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship heads to the Maverik Center in Salt Lake City for a stacked night of bare-knuckle action headlined by a battle to determine the first-ever BKFC ‘King of Violence’ champion. Undefeated bare-knuckle brawler Mike Perry will square off with former UFC lightweight world champion Eddie Alvarez in the evening’s main event.

Before the two men toe the line, they went head-to-head at the BKFC 56 press event on Thursday and decided to get things started a little early by trading body blows on stage.

Mike Perry goes into the contest 4-0 under the BKFC banner, including wins over Bellator’s Michael ‘Venom’ Page and ex-UFC middleweight champ Luke Rockhold

Alvarez will be making his second appearance for the promotion after scoring a split-decision victory in his debut at BKFC 41 earlier this year.

“I’m happy about it, and I’m happy to be able to do something a little different up here,” BKFC president Dave Feldman said at the press event. “This is a violent sport. We’ve run to it. We say what it is: It’s a brutal sport. It’s not more dangerous than anything else out there, but you have to be a different kind of person to fight bare-knuckle fighting, and these guys are. They’re different, and that’s why they’re fighting for the ‘King of Violence’ championship.”

‘Platinum’ has 12 career knockouts between MMA and BKFC while Alvarez enters the bout with 16 KOs to his credit.

“We have two violent guys – a Philly guy and a Florida guy – that are gonna collide in the squared circle on Dec. 2 here in Salt Lake City,” Feldman added. “It’s gonna be an epic, epic night.”
