When it comes to the UFC, Mike Perry calls it like he sees it.
The ex-UFC star fought under their banner from 2016 to 2021, leaving the promotion after back-to-back losses to Daniel Rodriguez and Tim Means. Fighters don’t always do so hot outside of the Octagon, but the same can’t be said for Perry, who has hit a career resurgence in Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship.
‘Platinum’ has went undefeated since his UFC run, defeating the likes of pro boxer Michael Seals in mixed rules, Julian Lane and a pair of former UFC Champs in Luke Rockhold and Eddie Alvarez in the BKFC.
Perry vs. UFC: ‘They’re Still F***ing Rude, Disrespectful…’
Finding success in the ring, Perry did contemplate putting on the MMA gloves again, calling up UFC CBO Hunter Campbell about potentially fighting at UFC 300. The UFC brass ended up saying no and one month later, Perry lays waste to the promotion for how they operate.
“It’s funny because they make everybody look the same now, and they wanna be fucking NFL, NBA of combat sports, but they don’t f*cking act like it,” Perry said of the UFC on the ‘Overdogs Podcast‘. “They’re still f***ing rude, disrespectful, rich assholes who don’t give a f*** about these fighters or anyone who f***ing puts their life on the line to do this s**t.”
“But then they’ll turn around and say, ‘Oh, God bless him, he’s putting his life on the line’. These f***ing fighters, they’ll stand up against the media, and they’ll be like, ‘You know what these f***ing fighters go through’. But at the same time, they’re the ones f***ing trying to make them kill themselves for this s**t, and then they get you know, wherever their f***ing head’s at, it’s like a whim. Like, the first thing that comes to their f***ing head, if he’s pissed in that moment, he’s like, I’m gonna f***ing I don’t give a f***. How about that? I don’t give a f***ing f***. How about that? It’s f***ing childish.”
‘Platinum’ On White
Discussing promoters of different sports, Perry says UFC CEO Dana White belongs in a league of his own… but for his character (or lack thereof), not the accomplishments and milestones he has helped set for the world-leading MMA promotion.
“The richest f***ing guy, most popular, most famous fucking guy of all time is childish. Because the NFL owners and s**t, they would never say any of this f***king s*** about any of their players. It’s always love, God, respect, nation, power, honor.”
‘I Feel You, Dana… I Don’t Give A F*** Either!’
The BKFC’s inaugural ‘King of Violence’ makes it known he’s done playing nice when talking about the UFC.
“We’ll get more we’ll get more from fucking doing what everyone else doesn’t do, which is fucking kiss their ass,” Perry added on to his rant. “F*** the bullshit. If I really feel some f***ing type of way about it… I feel you, Dana. Like, I don’t give a f*** either. I could care less.
“I could care less about the media passes because you don’t want me to ask the f***ing questions that I wanna f***ing ask because you don’t wanna f***ing text me back anymore because you’re f***ing salty that I called your ass and you picked up on the second ring. And you what’d you call me? Well, I didn’t f***ing feel salty that you were like, ‘What’s up, you lunatic?’ Hi, I’m a f***ing human being. I’m a f***ing person, too. I don’t walk around with security all f***ing day to protect my f***ing nutsack, I am the security!”
