Charlotte Flair spoiled Ronda Rousey’s fourth Wrestlemania appearance and the former UFC star left the AT&T Stadium without a belt in her hand on Saturday. Just when everybody thought Rousey was on course to beating Flair, things took a huge turn and “The Queen” ended up defending her WWE Smackdown women’s title.

The armbar didn’t get the job done

The electricity inside the AT&T Stadium was undeniable as soon as Rousey made her zestful “Rowdy” entrance. However, the former UFC champion wasn’t able to continue where she left off four months ago at Royal Rumble as Flair somehow got the controversial W.

After several back and forth, Flair “accidentally” speared the referee, who was immediately put to sleep. Rousey then managed to pull off her signature armbar that forced Flair to tap out but the referee was still on the ground and did not catch the MMA icon’s winning moment.

Flair then snuck out and kicked Rousey in the face which quickly took her out. “The Queen” proceeded to pin Rousey just as the referee regained his consciousness and eventually retained her title after three counts.

“DC” couldn’t help it

Shortly after Flair’s controversial win, Rousey’s fellow former UFC champion Daniel Cormier expressed his disappointment on what he had just seen. On his official Twitter account, “DC” tagged Rousey and wrote, “They cheated!”

“Rowdy” isn’t going nowhere

in the past few years, many have been longing to see Rousey back in MMA. Prior to Wrestlemania 38, “Rousey” addressed her future with the WWE and divulged that she will be “staying” with the company.

“Yes, I am staying [in WWE after WrestleMania 38]. I’ll be staying for a while,” Rousey said on a Facebook live gaming stream ahead of Wrestlemania 38. “I just had a baby. I’m not ready to have another one yet so, I’ll be staying around ‘till we’re ready for number two, or four.”

While Rousey has yet to consider a UFC return, reigning bantamweight champion Julianna Pena has already reiterated that she’s still dreaming of a fight with “Rowdy.”
