Pearl Gonzalez sent Dana White an audition tape to get entry into the upcoming Power Slap league.

Seasoned mixed martial arts pro Pearl Gonzalez has been out of the octagon for about three years since facing Miranda Maverick in Feb. 2020. She dropped the bout by unanimous decision and chose to switch to bare-knuckle boxing. Gonzalez got off to a successful start under BKFC (Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship) in Jun. 2021 when she dispatched Charisa Sigala. She competed one more time under the banner, falling short of Britain Hart Beltran in Nov. 2021.

In a recent clip uploaded on Twitter, combat sports star Pearl Gonzalez shared an audition tape for the upcoming slap-fighting promotion of Dana White called Power Slap.

“Hey @danawhite, here is my audition for @powerslap.. I will be your first ever women’s Slap champion!! Thanks to your producer @gary_defranco147 for letting me slap the shihhh outta him!”

Power Slap is set for launch next week

UFC head honcho White had been teasing the launch of Power Slap for the last few months. It was originally scheduled to premiere on TBS today Jan. 11. However, the program was delayed by a week and rescheduled to Jan. 18 following the recent personal controversy involving White and his wife, Anne.

White was on vacation in San Lucas Cabo, Mexico with his family and friends to celebrate the New Year. The group went to a popular local nightclub in the area where a heated argument broke out between White and his wife. He leaned over and told Anne something in her ear when she slapped him. White fired a slap right back and followed up with multiple shots.

TMZ Sports shared a clip of the incident along with an apology issued by White expressing remorse for his actions. Many called for TBS to drop the slap-fighting league entirely, and took issue with their decision to delay it. The league has already received support from the likes of former UFC two-division champion Conor McGregor and appears set for launch next week.
