A Lesson in Street MMA: Don’t get knocked out with a head kick in four seconds

Yesterday I was walking my dog through my neighborhood when a duck flew head first into a brick wall about 15 feet from me. I’d be lying if I didn’t yell out, “what the ****!” Around a couple of kids I was walking past, but a a duck flew head first into a brick wall about 15 feet from me. I saw it’s torso tumble to the ground, about 10-12 feet, then land in the grass with a strange hollow *thud*.

The duck got up, we looked at each other with a sort of understanding for a beat, then he quacked and walked away from me in shame. I don’t know if the duck was texting and flying or something, but I’ve never seen a duck fly into a brick wall before.

I’ve also never seen someone put their hands up to block a head kick in a Street MMA bout.

It’s comforting to know that the universe will send ducks flying into brick walls while keeping other happenings consistent.

Today’s Lesson in Street MMA is simple: Don’t get knocked out with a head kick in four seconds. It’s a lesson everyone should follow.
