After winning the 2022 PFL World Championship, Brendan Loughnane marked his return to action against Marlon Moraes in the headlining bout of the PFL 1: 2023 Season.

Round 1
Moraes misses a low kick. Loughnane working off the jab. Moraes gets an inside low kick. Moraes with a leg kick. Moraes with an inside leg kick and another on the outside. Loughnane fires one back on the outside and another one on the calf. Loughnane with a low kick. He steps in during Moraes’ attempt. Moraes eats a low kick. Loughnane with another leg kick. Moraes checks a low kick and lands one of his own. Loughnane with a heavy leg kick. Moraes’ right hand may be compromised. Huge leg kick by Loughnane and two more. Moraaes’ legs are looking hurt here. Loughnane continues to chop away at his legs. Loughnane with two more leg kicks. Moraes loading up on the punches and missing. Nice uppercut gets through for Moraes. Loughnane with a low kick. He goes up with a high kick. Loughnane with a kick to the leg and a right hand. Huge leg kick draws a reaction from Moraes. Loughnane kicks the leg and Moraes goes down. Loughnane makes him get back up and kicks the legs again. Moraes tumbles down again. He’s struggling to put weight on his legs.
Round 2
Moraes gets a left hook in and drives his foot on the gas. Low kick from Loughnane. Moraes leaps with a hook but misses. Low kick from Moraes. Moraes eats a leg kick. And another one. Uppercut from Moraes connects. Leg kick from Loughnane sends Moraes down and he’s unable to get up.
