[div class=”notice” class2=”icon”]The following is from an article on MMA-Japan, part of the MiddleEasy Network.[/div]
Tonight saw two of the worlds best fighers in Alistair Overeem and Fabricio Werdum step into the cage to do battle. Overeem is a K-1 champion, with a deadly striking arsenal. Werdum is a ADCC, World Brazilian Jiu Jitsu champion, several times over, who can submit anyone that dare go to the ground with him. What do we see in common here? Both fighters have two martial arts that they are extremely talented in. And this, in my opinion, is what made tonights fight what it was.
Personally, I enjoyed the fight tonight. I saw both fighters trying to implement their game plans and saw it as a very competitive fight. It was a chess match of sorts, and as the first round ended, I had the strong feeling that this fight would go to the judges.
