MMA is the last bastion of hope for pure entertainment. It has ups, downs, and the bouncy up and downs of a Clay Guida fight. If MMA were a videogame, Clay Guida and Gray Maynard would’ve been hard-rebooted before anything was saved so we could’ve started over and tried again. Now videogames are even getting new endings patched in by the creators if the fanbase feels the original artistic vision was not worthy of what they wanted. Think about how this makes Chael Sonnen feel. That dude has been a huge Bioware fan since Jade Empire (he was a bit late to the party) and he liked Mass Effect 3’s ending. Now, since bunch of people started a letter writing campaign to Bioware telling them they’ll never buy another one of their games again (which is a gigantic bluff that Bioware fell for) Chael has to deal with the conundrum of: which Mass Effect 3 ending is canon? Chael should not have to be asking these questions mere days from the biggest fight of his life…
If only the Chael Sonnen story was written by Bioware. With enough of a fuss from the fans, we could’ve seen multiple different ending to Silva Sonnen I by now. I guess 22 minutes of Anderson/Chael Primetime will have to tide us over.
