If you shelled out the $59.95 for the PPV broadcast of Affliction II: Day of Reckoning then you probably remember when the guys at WAMMA (World Alliance of Mixed Martial Arts) proclaimed that their belt was ‘the ultimate unifier’ which spanned among all organizations (including UFC). Essentially what they were trying to get at was if you held a WAMMA belt, you were the absolute best of the best in MMA. A few organizations jumped aboard the WAMMA bandwagon (Affliction, M-1 Global, Strikeforce, XFC…maybe MFC) and during Affliction II, they awarded Fedor (the first and what seems to be last WAMMA heavyweight champion) some nice diamondy bling to go around his finger. While all this was going on, Dana White vehemently said the WAMMA belt is about as useful as a pocketful of quarters at a stripclub. Looks like White was right (again). MMA Convert pulled the story from Fightlinker which pulled the story from the Sherdog forums that WAMMA is gonezo.
