A video highlighting parts of the booking of Jorge Masvidal by Miami police has been released.

Back in March UFC welterweight Jorge Masvidal got himself into some trouble. While in Miami, where he resides, Masvidal was involved in an altercation with another UFC fighter, Colby Covington. The incident happened on March 23, just two weeks after UFC 272 where Masvidal and Covington fought in the main event. There was bad blood leading up to the fight and then when Covington won by unanimous decision the bad blood was not settled.

The pair met outside of a Miami steak house and got into it. Covington is pressing charges for Masvidal punching him in the face, damaging his teeth and his property. Masvidal was taken into custody and charged with one count of aggravated battery as well as one count of criminal mischief. Masvidal has been out of competition since getting into this altercation with Covington.

The Jorge Masvidal arrest video is now available to watch on YouTube

At the time, there was only the word of both men. It was clear that Covington had been attacked since he had an injury and Masvidal had been taken into custody. Now footage of his arrest, including being in the station and being transferred is available to watch on the Real World Police YouTube Page.

The UFC star can be seen cooperating with law enforcement and seemed to be in a light-hearted mood. He was cracking jokes with the officers and was even cuffed and transported at one point. The court date for these charges will be February 27. He has pleaded not guilty and will be facing two felony charges.

In the meantime, it seems Masvidal could be finding himself in a title fight if things go his way. The welterweight champion Leon Edwards is reportedly set to defend his belt in the UK in March. The plan is to have him face Kamaru Usman, but there are rumors that Usman may be injured. Those same rumors were linking “Gambred” as the best possible option for a fill-in. None of those reports are official at this time. He is currently on a three-fight losing streak. His last win was back in 2019 when he defeated Nate Diaz for the BMF title.
