Glover Teixeira Forces Ion Cutelaba To Tap In The Second Round!
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is making its return tonight (Saturday, April 27, 2019) with its UFC Fight Night 150 event inside BB&T Center in Sunrise, Florida.
Welcome to the 205-pound bout between the former European Combat Sambo champion and the greatest UFC fighter from Moldova, Ion “The Hulk” Cutelaba, and ex-Shooto South America 220 lbs winner Glover Teixeira.
The third man inside the cage is Alan Abeles. The match begins!
Round 1
Cutelaba opens up with a Brazilian kick. Body kick, followed by a 3-2 counter. Teixeira shoots in, stopped.
Great 1-2 still no takedown. Short right Teixeira, great right hook. Cutelaba counters, amazing right hand. Great knees on the inside, and a jumping knee attempt.
Spinning back fist, Teixeira looks rocked!
Teixeira goes for a takedown, but it seems it was an illegal knee, but follows into the guard and delivers hammer fists. Teixeira wraps a guillotine on his feet as he gets up.
Cutelaba circles Teixeira attacks to the body. Teixeira takes him on the fence, Cutelaba defends well. Left hook Teixeira, Cutelaba misses. Unsure who won the round, maybe 10-9 Cutelaba.
Round 2
Outstanding overhand right Cutelaba. Cutelaba denies a takedown, Glover attacks with punches but misses. Teep kick by Cutelaba, but an awesome move by Glover, great counter. Overhand, he looks for a takedown, blocked. Counter left Cutelaba, and a big punch by Teixeira.
Big right hand Cutelaba’s head is in a big problem, what a punch.
Body kick Cutelaba, great exchange on both sides. Left hook and an overhand right. Cutelaba slips now but Teixeira takes him down and secures a full guard. Full mount Glover and the fight is over, great rear naked choke win!
