UFC fighter Khusein Askhabov has found himself in hot water with the law in Thailand.

The Phuket News reports that three men entered the villa of an Italian man in Cherng Talay. The report notes that the three men bound and gagged the man and beat him for information regarding passwords to his personal information. The alleged criminals reportedly stole about $42,000 in cash, $17,000 in ATM withdrawals, as well as items such as an iPhone.

Khusein Askhabov & Twin Brother Arrested

Askhabov and his twin brother Khasan, were arrested in connection to the violent robbery. The arrests weren’t made until the alleged victim was able to free himself in the villa. Here are images of the man who was bound.

It’s noted that Askhabov, the UFC fighter, isn’t believed to have entered the home of the man who was violently robbed. With that said, police believe the two were involved in the crime. The victim is said to have known Askhabov and his brother, but did not recognize the three attackers.

Askhabov is scheduled to compete at a UFC Fight Night event on October 7. He’s set to take on Daniel Pineda inside the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada. The legal troubles Askhabov is currently facing may put a stop to that plan.

“Nohcho” suffered the first loss of his pro MMA career earlier this year. He dropped a unanimous decision to Jamall Emmers. Askhabov was hoping to put that loss behind him, but he’s dealing with far greater issues than the world of prizefighting. There been no word on how his status with the UFC will be impacted by his arrest.

Pineda is now left to wonder if he’ll even have an opponent for the October 7 event. He’s hoping to wipe away the memory of his unanimous decision loss to Alex Caceres back in June. As UFC President Dana White often says, let’s see how things play out.
