UFC buying control of G4, Bellator moving to Spike? Woah…

At this rate, ZUFFA will create the world’s first artificial moon that will orbit close to the planet and digitally project The Ultimate Fighter and Xyience commercials on the face of earth in hourly intervals. This new artificial moon will be called ‘ZUFFATron’ solely because the UFC astronomical naming committee will not be clever enough to think of another name. Message boards will ignite, calling for the firing of the entire committee and people will still complain about this Wallid Ismail shirt. There is no future. The future is now, and with the Wall Street Journal reporting that UFC plans to buy majority control of G4, the future is awesome.

Ultimate Fighting Championship is in discussions to buy control of NBCUniversal’s struggling G4 gaming network, according to people familiar with the matter.

A deal would give the UFC, one of the leading producers of mixed martial arts competitions, its own distribution outlet for its bouts.

Wait, it gets wilder. According to an anonymous source that reported to MMAFighting, it appears that Spike TV and ZUFFA will part ways and Bellator will replace UFC on Spike TV. Props to Bjorn Rebney for placing his organization on a network with an endemic market for MMA. However, if any of you are avid readers of our Sunday Morning Rumor Mill, G4 getting into MMA should be nothing new to you. [Source]
