We’ve seen it before at UFC 104, although for some reason, the shock of Lyoto Machida defeating Shogun Rua doesn’t hold true for Tim Kennedy losing to Jacare Souza in a unanimous decision. Perhaps it was that massive gash going down Kennedy’s face that made him look like a stand-in for Phantom of the Opera. Regardless, the FightMetric numbers are in and Tim Kennedy landed more significant strikes, body strikes, leg strikes and total strikes than Jacare Souza. In fact, based on strikes landed, Tim Kennedy won the second, third, fourth and fifth round at Strikeforce Houston. I guess Dana White is right: Never leave it in the hands of the judges.
