How many times have we seen cool things happen because a human has their consciousness vacated in a ring? One hundred? One thousand? It makes me yearn for Affliction, Dream and Pride. There’s something special about a person getting tangled in the ropes when they are knocked out, but I’m a fan of adding insult to injury, so maybe it’s just me.
Take this clip from Russia, I believe. It’s a decent kickboxing scrap, but the knockout overshadows the fight itself in a big way. Hell, the knockout itself doesn’t even overshadow the fight, it’s the fact that knocked out dude remains standing in a Christ-like pose, resting quietly against the ropes after being knocked out that impresses me so.
I mean, that’s why this video is even here. Let’s all be very self-aware today.
