The seven-second Eric Davila KO of Brock Larson

Some people say he revolutionised the sport. Others say he is an integral part of the experience, as much as slow motion replays and post-fight press conference drama. I’ve heard him called ‘the fastest zombie in the world.’ His work is revered all over the internet. If you know what ‘teh gifs’ are, then you know who he is. Who else uploads the beginning of an event before it is even finished? Only a prophet… Zombie Prophet!

Ok, so some of that may be over the top but that’s my way of saying thanks to Zombie Prophet for sharing this video of Eric Davila’s incredible seven second KO victory over Brock Larson at Extreme Challenge 188 on Saturday night. There must be something in the water of Lubbock, Texas that turns men’s hands to stone. We are used to seeing Leonard Garcia swing his fists as if he were Benjamin Grimm (http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-bD8VTmzLKp8/TbMcDkQeiLI/AAAAAAAABOY/oXR-Mp8Q-F0/s1600/Thing+4.jpg) and now we get to see another Lubbock native in Eric “Bighead” Davila collect possibly his biggest victory. What makes this more incredible is that in 9 years and 39 fights Brock had never been knocked out until Saturday night. Wow. Its a wonder we never got to see Buddy Holly knock folk out with what I will henceforth refer to as “Lubbock hands”.
