The owner of Affliction wants Brett Rogers to knock out Josh Barnett

I usually have no interest in listening to any of the black metal/lamb sacrificing/warlock type music that Josh Barnett is helping save Japan with, but this week I may have to give in and listen to some. Maybe some Titannica or Wyckyd Sceptre in honor of the BabyFaced Assassin. Something needs to be done to celebrate his upcoming fight against Brett Rogers this Saturday. I might even sacrifice a lamb in honor of the HWGP finally being here in general. It works out, I’ve been craving Gyros lately.

That said I don’t really care who wins this week as long as the fights are good and there is no questionable judging, but co Affliction owner and one time fight promoter Tom Atencio is a little biased towards “The Grim”. I’m not sure why, but it might have something to do with Barnett testing positive for steroids back in 2009 (feels like 20 years ago), thus leaving the Affliction Trilogy main event without an opponent for Fedor and forcing the promotion to submit like Semmy Schilit in 2001. But that’s a tale you already know.

If you’ve noticed, Affliciton has been posting a series of entertaining fight prediction videos featuring Randy Couture and Tom Atencio. In the latest vid breaking down the GP, Atencio straight up gets honest with everyone about his feelings for the dark one, Josh Barnett. Watch it!

“I’m gonna go with Josh. Personally, I’d love to see, just because of the history — which we all know about — I would love to see Brett knock Josh out. I probably shouldn’t say it, but I’m gonna say it! But at the end of the day, I think Josh is gonna win.”
