The Bellator light heavyweight tournament opened in style tonight

UFC on TV and Bellator streaming right here on MiddleEasy, that’s how we hope you spent your Friday night. You don’t need friends or family anymore – only us and MMA. We will take care of you when no one else will. If you were with us and pulled off the MMA double header (triple header with XFC on HDNet) you realized there was almost too much action, if there can be such a thing. The Bellator summer series kicked into full swing with Bjorn and co. welcoming Brett Rogers into their heavyweight ranks. Rogers’ maiden voyage in the grey cage proved to be a successful one – he completely closed the eye of Kevin Asplund which lead to a doctor’s stoppage. Then the light heavyweight tournament opening round went down with some crazy two hundred and five pound action from top to bottom.

Ex MFC LHW champ Emanuel Newton took out Cesar Gracie fighter Roy Broughton to advance in the tournament. Tim Carpenter armbarred Beau Tribolet into oblivion. Attila Vegh put on an incredible performance against Zelg Galesic (Bellator and their Euro farm team rules.) Then Travis Wiuff literally beat Chris Davis into a floppy mess. Wiuff wants his belt, damn it.
