While you were drunkenly eating your Grand Slam breakfast from Denny’s at 3am this morning, Team USA West was busy getting elbow deep in the skulls of every member of Team Russia in the M-1 Global Tournament. Seriously, every single member of their five man team was swept by Team USA West. It’s a good way to start off any July 4th. Of course if you’re from Russia, July 4th means nothing to you. Well maybe it denotes the day in which Will Smith and Jeff Goldblum saved the world from an alien invasion. But for Team Imperial (Russia…yeah weird), July 4th is going to be the day in which America snatched the playoff hopes from the only team in M-1 Global trained by Fedor Emelianenko. It’s like some cliche out of a cheesy 80s action film (which makes it absolutely rawesome).
After this morning, David Jansen and Shane Del Rosario racked up another W on their undefeated records with Jansen now 11-0. We’re the first team to make it to the semi-finals which just makes the world such a better place. Pardon my patriotism today, it’s July 4th and to celebrate, I’m going to eat like a king at a Chinese Buffet (which makes it just like any other day).
