Jon Jones is a very controversial figure in the sport of mixed martial arts, and now that he is moving up to the heavyweight division, he has a whole new squad of fighters to deal with, including Tai Tuivasa.

Jones has made more headlines outside of the cage than he has inside for the past five years. From domestic abuse reports to DUI arrests to drugs. You name it, and Jones has dabbled.

No matter what he has done outside of the cage, Tuivasa believes Jones is still the best fighter but is a dickhead.

“Jones is probably the best MMA fighter of all time. He’s still a dickhead,” Tuivasa said in a recent interview with The All Star. He is what he is, I think he’s the greatest MMA fighter of all time but if you’re a fu*king idiot, you’re a fu*king idiot. Hitting your missus or whatever, blah, blah, blah. I don’t know the story. Everyone’s got their own things, if you’re an idiot, you’re an idiot. That’s it. But he still is who he is.”

With Jones now in his division, Tuivasa would like to fight him if given the opportunity. He feels like it will happen as they will both be around the top of the division for a while.

“If I ever got the opportunity, I’d fight him. I do this to say like, ‘One day, I’ll fight the champion.’ Well, f***, I fought him. Win or lose, maybe I might win, maybe I might lose, at least I can say I got to have a crack and some guys I’ve beaten, some guys I haven’t. That’s how I kind of live my life. If I ever had a chance, of course, I would,” Tuivasa said. ““If it happens, it’s meant to happen. Like I’ve said, I think I’m gonna be around for a little bit. Obviously, he’s got a bit left in him.”

Tuivasa is about to go into training camp for a humongous fight against Ciryl Gane later this year in September. It will be the UFC’s first time going to Paris, France, and ‘Bam Bam’ will headline the card.
