Sorry Wonderboy and Maia, Nick Diaz is free and Tyron Woodley wants to fight him at UFC 209

Without even knowing it, the MMA World got a little more real this week. Nick Diaz is free and can now return to his normal UFC activities after he reached a deal with the Nevada Athletic Commission earlier in the week. Fuck the NAC but long live Nick Diaz returning to an UFC cage near you.

Before the wrapping was even off Diaz, and his suspension that dated back to UFC 183 in Vegas, fighters were already calling him out. The power of Diaz is also real and fighters looking for a payday recognize this. To the surprise of a few, the first person in line looking for a Diaz Inc. money weight bout was current UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley.

Woodley could not shove a rematch with Stephen Wonderboy Thompson or a fight with Demian Maia to the ground fast enough, in hopes of catching Diaz’s attention. Coming a three-year layoff? Not fighting at 170 pounds for even longer? Diaz getting an instant title shot? Sure why not!

Woodley wants to fight Diaz at 209, the two already have beef, so don’t be surprised if the Stockton fighter is giving the UFC champion the double middle finger salute sooner than you think.
