I’ve long held that Ben Askren is the modern-day Sakuraba. You’re just going to have to believe me solely on my laziness not to explain exactly how Ben Askren is the modern-day Sakuraba. Unfortunately, I’m not sure if even Ben Askren knows that he’s the reincarnation of Kazushi Sakuraba. Someone should hit him up on Twitter and give him the heads up so Dana White could stop comparing his fighting style to a bottle of the sleep medication.
Of course, that’s not MiddleEasy’s belief. The dude has been sitting on our official Frate Trane List for over a year now. Askren’s ability to completely nullify his opponent’s gameplan is exciting enough for us. We even made an entire article about Douglas Lima’s sheer ability to not do anything in his fight with the Bellator welterweight champion. However, Dana White’s opinion drastically differs.
