I would love for Genghis Con to come on here to tell me if they have a boom operator or just a mounted mic on their camera, because I am listening to Miami Hustle on some decent headphones right now while I sit alone in the dark with my dog, and the audio for Miami Hustle is blowing my mind right now. Just really blowing my mind.
The scene in the restaurant from minute 6:30 to 8:00. Or Juan Carlos’ wife Jenny’s disembodied voice at 9:47. Great sound design. Like my old editing teacher told me back before the turn of the century: good sound design makes your picture look clearer, or something like that. I also have reason to believe he was on drugs every day.
My admiration for the audio work aside, Genghis Con, Jorge Masvidal, Juan Carlos Faraldo et al hit another home run this week in MMA’s best reality show. Watch it.
