Ever since it was announced that Josh Barnett was pegged for Strikeforce’s final show, information about his opponent has been rather hard to come by. Nandor Guelmino is a dude that bears a striking resemblance to that level boss on Double Dragon. So much in fact that I’ve created a side-by-side comparison of both individuals. Guelmino’s digital doppelganger is actually named Abobo and the guy has developed such a cult following from his appearance in Double Dragon that a few guys actually created an entire game dedicated to him. It’s called Abobo’s Big Adventure and if the site gives any indication of the quality of the Flash game, then you’re in for some 8-bit shenanigans.
We’ve uncovered one of Nandor Guelmino’s recent fights which went down July 7th 2012 at Mix Fight Night 3 in Carinthia, Austria. He took on a guy with an equally bizarre name, Ivo Cuk who also hails from Austria. There’s undoubtedly a more sophisticated way to write the preceding two sentences, but I’m pretty sure I just saw an alien creature run in the parking lot adjacent to my window — so I’m just a little bit on edge.
