So the rumor train came around late last night but I was too tired to hop on. When I woke up this morning it was still at my front door so I was obligated to hop along for the ride. Last night Shane took time out from his training of…boxing silverback gorillas and wrestling Yetis to throw a few tweets out to his fans. Someone mentioned that they heard he was going to tangle with Lesnar at UFC 106 and Carwin neither confirmed or denied the allegations. Now sources close to his camp are saying that he is indeed lined up to face the UFC Heavyweight Champion and overall scary guy, Brock Lesnar.
MiddleEasy has an interview lined up with Carwin this weekend some hopefully we’ll get something out of him but by then we’ll probably know whether it’s true or not (our timing is somewhat horrible). The rumor is UFC expected to sign Fedor during that whole M-1/Co-promotion fiasco and had him lined up to face Brock Lesnar November at UFC 106. Since that fell through, they didn’t want their champ wait until 2010 to defend his belt so they scrapped the Carwin/Cain fight that was supposed to determine the who was going to go head to head with Brock and just bumped your boy, Shane Carwin, on the card.
