Sean Strickland believes Brendan Allen should take “zero pride” for his win against Chris Curtis.

At UFC Vegas 90, Curtis took a chance to quickly climb the middleweight rankings by fighting number six-ranked Allen on short notice. Despite his valiant effort, ‘The Action Man’ barely came up short and lost by split decision, which has been debated amongst the MMA community.

As for Strickland’s reaction, he’s a close friend and training partner of Curtis, so he wasn’t happy about Saturday’s main event result. The former UFC middleweight champion took to Twitter and started his rant by saying:

“UFC “Curt we need you on a week notice”   ME “Curt you haven’t really been training because you wanted to take time off for you new baby, just say no”   Curt goes and out strikes a guy coming off the couch with a week of training lmao!”

Strickland followed up doubling down that Curtis was out of shape:

“UFC filmed Curt, I did one round of sparring with him and let him win   The camera crew was confused because they know me   I said “if I spar him remotely hard he will lose all confidence going into this fight he’s so out of shape. No excuses but take zero pride in this victory.”

Sean Strickland calls for Chris Curtis to receive a rematch against Brendan Allen with a full training camp

Brendan Allen and Chris Curtis first fought inside the APEX in December 2021. Allen was finding success early before Curtis landed a vicious combination to secure a second-round knockout win. Now that they each hold a win, Sean Strickland would like to see Allen and Curtis fight again to settle the score.

Strickland had this to say on Twitter:

“He was so out of shape and under prepared for this fight.. and still won.. You don’t say no to the UFC lol every UFC fighter knows that..  They say jump you say how high lmao Shoulda finished high school lmao!”

Strickland concluded his frustrated rant on Twitter by saying:

“Alright I’m done b*tching lol we’re all grown ass men and we all make our own decisions.. Just run it back on a full camp, curt deserves that. Goodnight yall!”

Chris Curtis also suffered a different setback on Saturday night, as he tore his hamstring in round two. ‘The Action Man’ reportedly re-aggravated the injury later in the fight, which could lead to an extended layoff before potentially looking to bounce back later this year.
