Sean O’Malley will make his return to the Octagon at UFC 280 on October 22nd. On that night, he will meet No. 1 ranked bantamweight contender Petr Yan. It’s a big step up in competition for O’Malley who is currently sitting in the No. 13 spot.

When he’s not training for what appears to be a bantamweight title eliminator fight, the charismatic 135-pounder continues to make waves on social media. As of late, the colorful striker has taken to prank videos. It’s a popular trend on social media channels, but his latest prank nearly got him ‘slept’ according to one unsuspecting victim.

In the video on his YouTube channel, Sean O’Malley teamed up with ThatWasEpic to pose as tow truck drivers who were pretending to tow away vehicles at a gas station before surprising their targets with a thousand dollars. However, one man was clearly not in the mood and admitted to nearly throwing hands over the situation.

Prank Victims Tell Sean O’Malley He’s Already Been to Prison For Assault

“Bruh, y’all almost got slept bruh,” the man said to O’Malley, not realizing he was talking to a professional fighter. “Crazy bro, because I’ve been to prison for assault twice already. If you would’ve tried to hook it up, both you guys would’ve been slept. I’mma go full boxer.”

Considering O’Malley is widely considered to be one of the best strikers in all of mixed martial arts, things could have certainly taken an ugly turn. Fortunately, Sean O’Malley kept his cool and didn’t allow things to get out of hand just weeks before the biggest fight of his professional combat sports career.

Also scheduled for UFC 280 is Aljamain Sterling vs. T.J. Dillashaw for the UFC bantamweight championship. Sterling will attempt to successfully defend his title for the second time following a title unification victory over Petr Yan at UFC 273 in April. If O’Malley is successful in defeating Yan, the likeliest scenario is that he will face the winner of Sterling vs. Dillashaw.
