Said Nurmagomedov was coming off a submission win over Cody Stamann going into the bout. He faced Douglas Silva de Andrade who was also on a two-fight win streak, at UFC Fight Night: Dos Anjos vs. Fiziev on the main card of the night at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Round 1
Silva opens with a leg kick. Said is on the outside. Said tries a spinning strike but Silva grapples halfway through. Silva has Said against the cage and is trying to take him down. Said hits Silva with light strikes as he’s being held off the fence. Silva goes for the knee kicks. An elbow from Silva misses. Said gets out and both return to the middle. Head kick missed by Said. Question mark kick missed by Said. Another head kick by Said, blocked by Silva. Said goes for a spinning head kick and misses. Another spinning kick to the body misses by Said. Silva fires with a mid kick but misses. Silva lands a good right. A flashy push kick off the lead leg to head kick miss by Said. Another spinning kick to the body by Said. Heavy shot from Silva as he blitzes in and Said fires one right back. Spinning backlist attempt by Said and Silva attempts the same. Said takes him down right at the buzzer.
Round 2
Said with an inside leg kick to the front leg. Said with a chopping low kick. Front kick by Said to Silva’s guard. Silva rushes in and eats a right hook by Said. Silva is really loading up on his shots here. Said showing a next level display of fluid and smooth kick attempts. Spinning head kick by Said to the guard. Body kick lands for Said. Silva having a tough time cutting the cage off and getting in. Said with a question mark kick. Flying knee by Said to counter after Silva’s kick. Said lands a big overhand right to a rushing Silva. Another good shot followed up by Said. Huge spinning backlist connects for Silva to send Said on the ground.
Round 3
Silva rushes in as Said was trying a spinning backlist. Silva gets a hold of Said, picks him up and slams him down on the side of the body to score a takedown. Both get up but Silva still holding him. They return tot he middle of the cage now. Chopping low kick by Said. Body kick by Silva right before a spinning backlist attempt by Said. Low shot by Silva during a spinning body kick attempt. Said goes for a single leg takedown and gets it. Said is on top and moves to side control. Silva manages to get up. Huge left from Silva. Said goes down from a spinning kick attempt. Silva is on top now as Said tries to get a hold of his arm. Said throwing up and side kicks from the ground. Said is content being on the ground and using his kicks off the ground. Herb Dean gets Said up and both start in the middle. Huge one-two from Silva. Said goes for another takedown but doesn’t get it. Two head kicks from Said. Missed spinning backlist from Silva to close the fight.
