Ray Mercer is now the #13 ranked MMA heavyweight in the world, seriously

What do Fedor and a 48 year old Ray Mercer have in common? They’ve both defeated the former UFC Heavyweight champion, Tim Sylvia. It took Fedor 36 seconds to polish off the champ with a RNC, but it only took Ray Mercer 9 seconds to KO Sylvia. Back in November we made your head explode with the news that Ray Mercer was the the #14 ranked MMA heavyweight in the world. With Gonzaga’s loss against Dos Santos this past weekend at UFC on Versus, that throws him down just slightly in the ranks which consequently rockets Ray Mercer higher in the heavyweight ranks. According to the computerized ranking system at FightMatrix.com, Ray Mercer is now the #13 ranked MMA heavyweight in the world. The ranking system uses a database that assigns qualitative points to each fighter based on the method in which they won and with Ray Mercer’s one-punch KO of a former UFC Heavyweight champion, it’s hard not to disagree.
