Rashad Evans vs. Shogun Rua is next on tap

It looks like all that wrestling King Mo taught Rashad Evans over the past couple months has finally paid off. Rashad has defeated Rampage Jackson which means that a little bit of Pride FC just died in all of our hearts. As Agent Smith taught us in The Matrix: ‘Everything that has a beginning has an end’. Of course, the most ironic thing about all of this is that a Pride legend has the UFC light heavyweight belt hanging up above his fireplace somewhere in Brazil (not even sure if they have fireplaces over there).

Now we can all debate on the probability of whether Rampage Jackson will even bother to step inside the octagon again. Dude is starring in perhaps the biggest Summer movie of 2010 and whatever ZUFFA paid him tonight at UFC 114 was dwarfed by the paycheck 20th Century Fox cut for him to grow a frohawk and act like Mr.T. Whenever you’re a movie star who happens to be a high-profile MMA fighter and you were defeated in front of an audience of millions, the fight game just doesn’t seem that appealing. Just ask Gina Carano.
