Phil Davis out, Lyoto Machida in at UFC 133 against Rashad Evans?

Hey UFC marketing guys don’t worry, I got this. Just sit back and take the day off. I’ve already developed a tagline to use on all our promotional materials. UFC 133: ‘Return of the Stanky Leg?’. That one is a freebie. Take it and do what you want. This is MiddleEasy, we give out styles like ice cream cones.

Moments ago Ariel Helwani reported that Phil Davis was removed from the UFC 133 card due to a knee injury sustained during training. Sad news for a relatively dull day in MMA, until HeacKickLegend reported that Lyoto Machida has stepped in for Phil Davis. News that, according to the site, will be confirmed shortly by the UFC. This would give Rashad Evans an opportunity to avenge the only loss in his career which took place at UFC 98. It gave birth to MMA’s modern definition of what a ‘Stanky Leg’ truly is, and if we’re lucky we’ll see it again — but from who? The suspense, you can cut it with a butter knife and use the remainder to spread of a piece of wheat toast. [Source]

Update: It appears Lyoto Machida was offered the fight, but has turned it down.
