Paulie Malignaggi vs Artem Lobov To Take Place In Tampa, Fl
Well it looks like the bare knuckle boxing match between Artem Lobov and Paulie Malignaggi is official. After some debate, the bout will take place in Florida.
When Paulie Malignaggi signed to Bare Knuckle FC, it was expected that his first fight would be against Artem Lobov. However, nobody expected the fight that Lobov would put on against Jason Knight in April. The two would batter each other, nearly beyond recognition.
Following that match in April, BKFC president David Feldman talked about the Malignaggi bout. Here, he said the bout would take place on June 22nd, in New Hampshire. While the date stayed the same, the location would change. It was announced on BKFC’s official website, that the match would in fact take place in Tampa, Fl. However, the venue for the event is still TBD.
This will be Paulie Malignaggi’s first event in the bare knuckle circuit. The former multiple weight boxing champion has not had many nice things to say about Artem. This is a rivalry that stems from Lobov’s friend and training partner, Conor McGregor. Malignaggi helped train McGregor for his boxing match against Floyd Mayweather. It was during this where the beef started, due to a couple of sparring matches.
Artem Lobov will be making his sophomore appearance for BKFC. His bout with Jason Knight was his first in the promotion. It was also the first bout for both he and Knight since being cut from the UFC. Lobov went 2-5 in the promotion before being released.
One thing is for sure with this bout. No matter how it goes, Paulie Malignaggi and Artem Lobov will entertain.
