  • Paddy Pimblett already wanted to submit King Green via Triangle Choke even during training camp
  • UFC president Dana White was very satisfied with “The Baddy’s” performance and decided to give him an extra $100K bonus

Paddy Pimblett has been planning to submit King Green even when he was still in training camp and received praise and $200K fight bonus from UFC president Dana White.

“The Baddy” saw it coming

Speaking on his YouTube channel moments after sleeping Green via Triangle Choke, “The Baddy” reflected on his stunning performance and revealed that he has been envisioning the exact submission way before fight night.

“I know when it goes tight,” Pimblett said. “When I get under that leg and I get that angle, I know it’s tight. And no disrespect to the ref, I think he was quite slow. I think Bobby was unconscious for a couple of seconds before I took the arm.”

“Mad, that. I was saying all camp I’m gonna snap his arm,” he later revealed. “And it happened. But, like, I feel bad… He was out for ages. Cause I got back in the cage after going bananas and he was still unconscious. I could hear him like gargling.”

Pimblett was also satisfied that he was able to finally redeem himself, especially with people still talking about his controversial win over Jared Gordon.

“That’s changed my career. The fact I had such a close fight with Jared Gordon. I went into that fight underestimating him… Jared’s the only person so far who hasn’t underestimated me, everyone else underestimated me and just thought they’d go like they’d beat me you know what I mean. He give me the by far the toughest fight of my career… Probably was [the easiest fight of my career]. I made it look easy,” he added.

Paddy got paid

Pimblett was then informed that White has doubled his $100K fight bonus which made “The Baddy” extremely happy.

“$100K each for the babies! Even better!,” Pimblett said.

In his UFC 304 post-fight presser, the UFC boss raved about Pimblett’s performance and pointed out that it was the type of performance that deserves a huge bonus.

“Paddy is one of those guys who everybody talk sh*t about. Everybody wants to fight him and everybody wants to call him out and he keeps winning. And he looked damn good tonight. That’s why he got the 200 thousand [bonus]… That’s a guy who came out tonight and looked like he wanted an extra hundred thousand dollars,” White said.

As it stands, Pimblett has now gone undefeated in all of his six fights under the UFC banner. The win over Green also saw him breaking into the lightweight division’s Top 15.
