After dispatching his first five opponents inside the Octagon, Paddy Pimblett looked to punch his ticket to the lightweight top 15 at UFC 304 in Manchester.

Looking to hand ‘The Baddy’ his first loss on MMA’s biggest stage was King Green, a division staple who entered the contest backed by wins against Tony Ferguson, Drew Dober, and Jim Miller over the past year.

Round 1

Green comes out immediately talking to Pimblett with his hands hovering at his waist. Pimblett fires a few shots to Green’s lead leg. Green continues to talk as ‘The Baddy’ lands a few strikes up top. Pimblett catches Green with a right and Green responds with a taunt. Every time Green attempts to get close, Pimblett fires a calf kick that already appears to be bothering his opponent.

Pimblett fires another low kick and Green uses it as an opportunity to shoot in for a takedown. Green nearly finds himself trapped in a guillotine. Green scrambles out, but Pimblett transitions to an arm triangle and locks it in until Green passes out, forcing the referee to step in and call for the stoppage.

Official Result: Paddy Pimblett def. King Green via submission (triangle choke) at 3:22 of Round 1.
