Two rising lightweights are set to make their way to the Octagon when Paddy Pimblett meets Jared Gordon at UFC 282.

The last UFC pay-per-view of the year is notoriously stacked with huge fights and the biggest stars. This year is shaping up no different as the UFC is beginning to announce some top bouts for the UFC 282 fight card taking place on December 10 in Las Vegas. Although the headliner of this card is still in the works, two rising stars in the lightweight division are set to meet inside the cage.

Paddy Pimblett is one of the most well-known prospects in the fight world. In his short time in the UFC, he has gained an enormous following. Now he has his next battle just ahead of him and it is a daunting one. Pimblett has signed on to face Jared Gordon in Dec.

Paddy Pimblett will be looking to continue his rise up the rankings with a win over Jared Gordon

Pimblett now has three fights inside the UFC Octagon. There were a lot of expectations on Pimblett coming out of Cage Warriors and into the limelight of the UFC but so far he has lived up to the hype. He now has three wins in a row and will be taking on a talented veteran his next time out. So far in his short UFC career, Pimblett has fought once in Las Vegas and twice in London. In his last two times out he was featured alongside his training partner Molly McCann and many believed they would continue fighting on the same card for a while. McCann was previously added to the NYC card in Nov. and when Pimblett was not added with her many believed that Las Vegas in Dec. would be his landing spot.

Gordon will now take on the task of derailing the hype train of Pimblett. Gordan first called out Pimblett following his win over Joe Solecki in October of last year. That fight was rumored to be happening at the time but never materialized. Gordon went on to fight two more times and is now coming off a win over Leonardo Santos in August.

Neither man is currently ranked in the deep lightweight division but that would be the goal for both. This is a fight that the fans will be interested in and could be featured on the main card where there are sure to be plenty of eyes watching.
