Israel Adesanya had a great time watching Dave Chappelle live. During the event, the former UFC middleweight champion also got to hang out with the world-famous standup comedian and “Aquaman” actor Jason Momoa.

A night with the stars

Adesanya is set to take on his ultimate rival and reigning middleweight champion Alex Pereira in a highly-touted rematch at UFC 287. While there’s no doubt Izzy has been training hard ahead of the fight, that doesn’t mean he doesn’t give himself a break sometimes.

In fact, “The Last Stylebender” watched Chappelle live in a recent show. As a perk of being a UFC star, Adesanya got to chill with Chappelle and other celebrities and famous comedians present at the event, including Momoa, Donnell Rawlings, and Marshall Brandon.

Adesanya then took his thoughts on the great experience on social media.

“Just met Dave Chappelle and now we cool…I’m starstruck!!! Yes I am!!!,” Adesanya wrote on Twitter.

“Crazy experience watching a master live. Imma keep watching the greats and giving them their flowers while they’re here. Then there’s my hot mate Jason too!,” Izzy wrote on Instagram.

A score to settle

Back in the UFC, Adesanya will be looking to prove that he is still the rightful middleweight champion regardless of being down 0-3 in all of his clashes with Pereira. Izzy previously revealed his thoughts on the impact of his constant defeats to “Poatan” and insists that he doesn’t care about what the score says as he only needs one win to settle it.

As it stands, Adesanya has never secured a win over Pereira, having lost to his Brazilian nemesis twice in kickboxing and once in MMA which took place at UFC 281. Pereira TKO’d Adesanya in their last meeting but Izzy is confident he will take his middleweight belt back once he set foot inside the Octagon at UFC 287 on April 8, 2023.
