UFC veteran Neil Magny is coming off a sensational victory over Daniel Rodriguez in his last outing at UFC Fight Night 214: Rodriguez vs. Lemos earlier this month. Magny was getting the better of Rodriguez in a close-fought war that saw ‘The Haitian Sensation’ lock in a brabo choke to submit ‘D-Rod’ in the third round.

Neil Magny shares the ‘huge difference-maker’ in Pereira’s win over Adesanya

In a recent interview with Middle Easy, UFC welterweight Neil Magny shared his thoughts on Pereira’s impressive victory over Adesanya at UFC 281 this past weekend. He highlighted how deceivingly big the middleweight fighters can be and credited ‘Poatan’s win to a single technique.

“That was a great fight. He really dug deep and found a way to get it done.”

“One of the things that’s so bizarre to me… seeing just how big he was going into that fight, I was just like ‘holy crap I got some work to do.’ These guys at 185 are massive even though they may appear to be ‘skinny guys’ they are still huge. They are still 210 or 215 pounds on fight night and that’s a huge difference-maker when you go into these fights.

“It comes close. It literally came down to not even a mistake but this one perfectly executed technique on Pereira’s end that led to him also getting the finish against Adesanya this past weekend. It was just crazy to see.”

Magny called out former title challenger Gilbert Burns for a potential showdown ahead. However, it seems unlikely that the matchup would come to fruition due to the difference in rankings and Burns’ chase of Jorge Masvidal.
