Nate Diaz Is Not Provisionally Suspended This Time, “BMF Title Match” Is Still On!
Yesterday Nate “The Stockton Slugger” Diaz revealed via Instagram that he had failed the drug test for elevated levels of a banned substance and being informed by USADA that he won’t be eligible to square off against “Gamebred” at UFC 244. With certain reports circulating it looks like the “BMF title” fight between Jorge Masvidal and Diaz can still happen.
UPDATE: Nate Diaz Cleared By USADA, He’ll Fight Masvidal At UFC 244!
The ESPN report says that Nate Diaz wasn’t provisionally suspended this time. Yet, his samples contained traces of SARM (selective androgen receptor module). For those who have never heard of it, here is an explanation below:
“SARMs have the potential to be misused for performance enhancement in sport due to their anabolic properties as well as ability to stimulate androgen receptors in muscle and bone. They are currently prohibited at-all-times in the category of “other anabolic agents” under section S1.2 of the WADA Prohibited List. Some examples of SARMs are Ostarine and Andarine.”
Nate also asked from UFC boss Dana White to “clear his name”, otherwise… well, read the tweet below.
“ @danawhite @ufc @UFCONFOX @espn @espnmma Clear my name or I ain’t doin shit..”
It’s hard to expect Dana White has such power because Nate Diaz has already been informed by USADA of potential illegal substance violation. But you never know, time will tell. What do you think, did Nate make a mistake this time?
