MMA’s only one-legged fighter is now 4-1

You remember how you always tell yourself you’re going to start training in MMA but you can’t hear yourself think over that ITT Tech commercial that plays during every Jerry Springer commercial break? If you know what I’m talking about then you really need to peel yourself from your parent’s sofa and do something productive with your life like…celebrate the fact that you have both your legs. Let’s face it, if you were missing one of your appendages, then you can pretty much toss away that list of walkout songs you had planned for your MMA debut.

Unless your a dude named Matt Betzold who is living every dream, hope and aspiration you’ve had in your life and he’s doing it…with just one leg.

Matt has a professional MMA record of 4-1 and he fights under the same rules as his competition. There are no special allowances for him aside from the fact that Betzold is automatically considered a downed opponent when the bout starts. That means no kicks or incredibly destructive muay-thai clinch. Yes we know if this were Pride, Betzold’s forehead would have the imprints of about a few hundred soccer kicks. However if Pride were still around, you know Japan would find a one-armed striker and then throw both of them in some politically incorrect grand-prix. Check out some pics from his last fight where he defeated his opponent with a RNC in just 54 seconds, compliments of the UG and LNL Photo.
