Mike Perry Grateful To Donald Cerrone, Wants To Get BJJ Black Belt

Mike Perry Described His Future Plans And Praised Donald Cerrone In Social Media

Mike Perry and Donald Cerrone fought at the co-main event of UFC Fight Night 139 on Saturday night. We’ve seen a tremendous submission switch victory from “The Cowboy” in the first round. “The Platinum” successfully defended triangle choke attempt. Yet, Cerrone trapped his arm and even survived the slam! He ended the match with style, forcing his rival to tap out after a fantastic armbar!

But Mike Perry wasn’t negative after this loss at all. Immediately after the match, Perry also congratulated “The Cowboy”. This time, he is grateful to his rival for learning new moves. “The Platinum” described how good friend knowledge can be. Here is Perry’s Twitter post.

“There were so many variables I see now that I didn’t see last night,” Mike Perry said Sunday on Twitter. “Knowledge is power. Now I know.”

Mike Perry continued giving positive words for his rival on Instagram. Also, “The Platinum” believes he needs to improve his ground and pound game in the future. He also hopes to earn BJJ black belt.

“Drillers make killers. We fine tuned so many things in my fight game. We did not work or drill offensive ground control and strikes from top. If I drill and flow my jiu jitsu offensive top game the way I worked on my kickboxing flow I’ll be ripping limbs off and landing effective G&P my next match. Off to get my black belt 🥋✊🏼🙏🏼 congrats to @cowboycerrone for breaking an arm to break all the records last night. Stepping stone for me. I learned a lot and am more dangerous from it already 🙏🏼✊🏼🥋thank you”

Donald Cerrone is actually the first fighter who forced Mike Perry (12-4 MMA, 5-4 UFC) to surrender. Before UFC Denver, “Platinum” lost three times via unanimous decision.

Great move, Mike Perry! At least you don’t call “The Cowboy” a gym cancer, like Mike Winkeljohn! Do you think “The Platinum” can learn a lot from this loss? All his MMA victories came via KO or TKO.
