Mike Winkeljohn: “Donald Cerrone Is A Gym Cancer”

Jackson-Wink Coach Mike Winkeljohn Continues The Media War With Their Ex-Member Donald Cerrone

Donald Cerrone (34-11, 1 NC MMA, 21-8 UFC) defeated Jackson-Wink MMA Academy fighter Mike Perry on Saturday night after amazing first-round submission. It is “Cowboy’s” first armbar victory in UFC career, and fourth in MMA.

The beef between Donald Cerrone and his former team started when “The Cowboy” called Jackson-Wink Gym a place where bums spar with professional fighters. According to Cerrone, who currently fights under BMF Ranch banner, loyalty was traded for money.

Cerrone went very far on the UFC Denver media day. The former UFC Lightweight division runner-up said that “The Platinum” has nothing to do with the drama. Yet, he insulted Mike Winkeljohn several times. Let’s take a look at his words.

“This fight’s happening,” Cerrone said at the UFC media day in Denver. “You mean, in terms of where I could still be at the gym and where this never would have happened? … It happened, it didn’t, and Winkeljohn drew his line in the sand. And now I get to spit on him on the other side. So it’s alright. F**k him, there’s your clickbait, motherf*ckers. F*ck you, Winkeljohn.”

“My fight’s with Perry it has nothing to do with Wink,” Cerrone said. “That’s outside drama it won’t even come into play on Saturday. Right now you’re bringing this out of me. I’ll see him Saturday, but my opponent is Perry. Perry has nothing to do with the drama going on or any of that, so yeah.”

Of course, “The Cowboy” continued provoking Mike Winkeljohn following his victory over “Platinum”. He mentioned the magic word “money” one more time. (via MMAMania.com)

“My grandma went and told Winkeljohn ‘You should have bet on the dinosaur,’” he said during a post-fight media scrum. “He knows what he did. It’s all over money, too. That’s the worst part. Looks like he’s still not getting paid, is he?”

Yet, Mike Winkeljohn shared a completely different side of the story on his Instagram account. He claims “The Cowboy” is the guy who was taking sparring partners to his ranch. He also expressed his happiness since “cancer” is removed from the training facility. Take a look at the video below.

”Where was ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone the last 10 years helping others at the gym?” Winkeljohn said in a video. “Nowhere to be found. He didn’t come to our classes, didn’t even use Greg Jackson his last two fight camps. When he came, he would grab sparring partners and then he would take those sparring partners back up to his ranch where he paid for fun, free s**t. Those guys would sometimes go up there and stay and train, and they’d lose.”

”Any gym owner would tell you cancer has to be removed,” he continued. “It’s removed. The gym has no drama. It’s a happy place. I’m a happy guy. With that being said, I really wish Mike Perry had not taken ‘Cowboy’ down. Anyway, if you have fighter experience, and you want to come train with the best fighters in the world and help each other – Jon Jones, Holly Holm, Michelle Waterson, Devin Clark, Bevon Lewis, Carlos Condit, Siyar [Bahadurzada], John Dodson and so many others – you’re more than welcome. If you’re one of those guys that swings on Donald Cerrone’s you-know-what, that’s weak and weird.”

Mike Winkeljohn claims everything is fine. But Yair Rodriguez stated that the main reason for leaving Jackson-Wink is the fact he is not a fan of drama! “El Pantera” trained at Cowboy’s ranch, and earned a victory via one of the most spectacular knockouts in the history of UFC!

What do you think, what happens next? Do you support Mike Winkeljohn or Donald Cerrone? One thing is certain – this war is far from over!
